How the Other Half Lives

I am writing this from the business lounge for British Airways/ANA. It is sweet! I am sitting in a lounge chair, writing on my laptop, chatting with James on the phone, and looking at a nice fountain. It is very chill. I spent the morning imagining different ways that the trip could go wrong. For example, I woke up convinced that you need a visa to visit Japan. You don’t. But I’m here, and we board soon.

I can tell already that all the zeros involved with Japanese currency will keep throwing me. When I got my money changed, I freaked out as I missed a zero on the 10,000 yen bills. (No comma, which is I guess what I was scanning for.)

This lounge is crazy. This is relaxing–more like a vacation! But this is for business class, so in theory we’re all here for business rather than pleasure. In theory, I should be obsessing over my work rather than blogging and enjoying the fountain. Anyway. I am going to relax and make the most of the lounge for the remaining 15 minutes before I board, See you in Japan!

  1. Blogging counts as work! It sounds great, I can hardly believe you’re in Japan right now.
